    Hey
Well, I think the Mark situation with facebook has been cleared up, I still wish people had the option to hide because it seems pointless on the profile if you don't even have it has an option, but we still got our profile ordeal fixed. so good good.

The Illusionist is AMAZING! SWEET APPLE OF PIE, go watch the movie, okay, I hope I don't hype it up, but I liked it.

Oh, and say a prayer for me, I am going to join (ACSA), Austin coed soccer association and I haven't played coed since I was five. The sound of the guys email made it seem like it was mostly guys in the age range of early 20's and mid 20's.

    Dane Cook
Okay, so...I love Dane Cook, and I love his albums but his new live on HBO which I am watching on tv now seriously sucks. I love the stories, but they just arn't funny.

You might chuckle once, but it's just, blah.

    You will thank me later.

for all of those facebook lovers
Okay, I am a big fan of livejournal, myspace and facebook as much as the next person. I use them...okay a lot. This is the first time though that I think facebook has gone over board. They have a new "mini fed" to where you can see what everyone has done, big brother style. So...here's my suggestion!...

this is just plain funny about images and mark zuckerberg being owned....

this is about the day without facebook....

it's just a day, I will sign back up after the 12th.

If that is just too much to ask...here is an online petition, you just put your first name and send...thus far 72000+ have signed...

I had to take a test for res life...they tested 2 million people and came up with about 34 different things...the idea is you work on your strengths and as a team you can rock out...I dont really believe in tests...but here are my top five...if you were curious

    1 Relator Learning Module

    Define Relator

Relator describes your attitude toward your relationships. In simple terms, the Relator theme pulls you toward people you already know. You do not necessarily shy away from meeting new people--in fact, you may have other themes that cause you to enjoy the thrill of turning strangers into friends--but you do derive a great deal of pleasure and strength from being around your close friends. You are comfortable with intimacy. Once the initial connection has been made, you deliberately encourage a deepening of the relationship. You want to understand their feelings, their goals, their fears, and their dreams: and you want them to understand yours. You know that this kind of closeness implies a certain amount of risk--you might be taken advantage of--but you are willing to accept that risk. For you a relationship has value only if it is genuine. And the only way to know that is to entrust yourself to the other person. The more you share with each other, the more you risk together. The more you risk together, the more each of you proves your caring is genuine. These are your steps toward real friendship, and you take them willingly.

    2 Positivity Learning Module

    Define Positivity

You are generous with praise, quick to smile, and always on the lookout for the positive in the situation. Some call you lighthearted. Others just wish that their glass were as full as yours seems to be. But either way, people want to be around you. Their world looks better around you because your enthusiasm is contagious. Lacking your energy and optimism, some find their world drab with repetition or, worse, heavy with pressure. You seem to find a way to lighten their spirit. You inject drama into every project. You celebrate every achievement. You find ways to make everything more exciting and more vital. Some cynics may reject your energy, but you are rarely dragged down. Your Positivity won't allow it. Somehow you can't quite escape your conviction that it is good to be alive, that work can be fun, and that no matter what the setbacks, one must never lose one's sense of humor.

    3 Includer Learning Module

    Define Includer

"Stretch the circle wider." This is the philosophy around which you orient your life. You want to include people and make them feel part of the group. In direct contrast to those who are drawn only to exclusive groups, you actively avoid those groups that exclude others. You want to expand the group so that as many people as possible can benefit from its support. You hate the sight of someone on the outside looking in. You want to draw them in so that they can feel the warmth of the group. You are an instinctively accepting person. Regardless of race or sex or nationality or personality or faith, you cast few judgments. Judgments can hurt a person's feelings. Why do that if you don't have to? Your accepting nature does not necessarily rest on a belief that each of us is different and that one should respect these differences. Rather, it rests on your conviction that fundamentally we are all the same. We are all equally important. Thus, no one should be ignored. Each of us should be included. It is the least we all deserve.

    4 Belief Learning Module

    Define Belief

If you possess a strong Belief theme, you have certain core values that are enduring. These values vary from one person to another, but ordinarily your Belief theme causes you to be family-oriented, altruistic, even spiritual, and to value responsibility and high ethics--both in yourself and others. These core values affect your behavior in many ways. They give your life meaning and satisfaction; in your view, success is more than money and prestige. They provide you with direction, guiding you through the temptations and distractions of life toward a consistent set of priorities. This consistency is the foundation for all your relationships. Your friends call you dependable. "I know where you stand," they say. Your Belief makes you easy to trust. It also demands that you find work that meshes with your values. Your work must be meaningful; it must matter to you. And guided by your Belief theme it will matter only if it gives you a chance to live out your values.

    5 Learner Learning Module

    Define Learner

You love to learn. The subject matter that interests you most will be determined by your other themes and experiences, but whatever the subject, you will always be drawn to the process of learning. The process, more than the content or the result, is especially exciting for you. You are energized by the steady and deliberate journey from ignorance to competence. The thrill of the first few facts, the early efforts to recite or practice what you have learned, the growing confidence of a skill mastered--this is the process that entices you. Your excitement leads you to engage in adult learning experiences--yoga or piano lessons or graduate classes. It enables you to thrive in dynamic work environments where you are asked to take on short project assignments and are expected to learn a lot about the new subject matter in a short period of time and then move on to the next one. This Learner theme does not necessarily mean that you seek to become the subject matter expert, or that you are striving for the respect that accompanies a professional or academic credential. The outcome of the learning is less significant than the "getting there."

    beautiful.

So here's the deal. Someone from my newspaper didn't want to go (got bitched out b/c he wasn't going). So I was like wait, (thinking to myself), this is the book I read and the steve martin I wrote a letter too. why yes. It's priemere for the film I was going to see anyway. I went (press pass) to the opening in Austin. The next day was a round table interview with about 8 people (and jason + director). Jason sat next to me. We interviewed them about specifics concerning the film. I'll post some of the Q&A later.
    3:37 pm
    interview
who interviewed Jason Schwartzman and Anand Tucker (director) from Shopgirl? This girl. amazing. no. really amazing. I went to the premiere last night and Jason, Claire (Danes), and Anand did a Q&A afterwards.

I can't even begin. Jason sat right next to me.

    wow.

    skoo
I went on an awesome retreat this weekend.

It was a nice break from the monotony of school and homework.

speaking of school, classes are up! At the current rate I'm going to take General Psychology, American Dilemmas, Persuasion, History of Photography, and Interpersonal Communication. This will be a nice break from this semester's 18 hours and two classes to TA for.

Studying abroad for the summer! three months! Again. I am really really oooober excited because it will be a break from school kind of (plus getting to know the language and culture). I'm thinking Chile? or anywhere in S. America that has a three month spanish program.

Oh. I have a job for sure over the thanksgiving and christmas break working at the bread company! no life! wooo! (the kind of funny part is...I'll probably make more doing that for less then a month then I do for a semester with my RA stipend). no complaints though.

    word to your mama.

Keep me updated on your life. I want to hang out with people I haven't seen in a while, (Kalee *amy's?, jessica -so I saw you last week, you can never have enough jessica-, I forget who else is on my friend list,...tara I see you everyday...that's all I can think of at the moment)

Oh! Visiting my brother in Nov! Rock!

AND BEN FREAKIN' FOLDS IS TOURING TEXAS in NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!

    Aunts
My aunt asked about my love life, like she does every single time. (so annoying) So basically two of my aunts were married at like 21 or 20. BLAH.

I'm too busy picking out graduate degrees.

    (that's a joke)

I found out a guy that's oober nicer liked me this summer. HA. Happened last summer too. I wanna date a nice guy.

    It made me smile.

anywho. I really have nothing to write about. Rent and Shopgirl are coming out soon and yeah...opening night. I'll be there.

    Southwest rocks my socks
I don't know why, but tonight I just got this urge to purchase a book on some philosophies of Faucault. So I did and I'm really excited to read madness and civilization.

I don't think I explained my quintin experience well enough before, so I am copying and pasting from jessica's diary,...read and enjoy...

Tonight Megan and I hit up the QT-Six, the 6th Quentin Tarantino Film Festival, down at the Drafthouse. It's nine nights long, and each night has a different theme. He picks out movies that he enjoys or that have inspired him, forms categories, and introduces them each night. Tonight was Italian World War II Epic Night. Spaghetti WWII flicks. Maybe not everyone's top pick from the list, but I love war movies. Tonight's first movie, Five For Hell (1969) was pretty sweet. Pretty ridiculous. Klaus Kinski was way awesome (though a Nazi).

Afterwards, nobody was approaching Tarantino, who had sat in the theatre to watch the film, so I followed Megan over there (I was nervous). She presented him with fake flowers in a glass pot thing that she had bought, which made him really happy. He kept shaking her hand and smiling and calling her a sweetheart. I shook his hand and told him that I dug the film, and thanked him, and he was quite pleased and pleasant. And weird as hell, and I love him.

Thursday night is Sexploitation Night. We're hoping that we'll be able to see the third movie, at midnight, which is Hot Summer In The City (XXX Rated: No one under the age of 17 allowed). There are movies before it, however, and the audience members from those might stay, and make it rough for us to get tickets. I'm going to look into it.

    .... next night

Megan and I went to the Drafthouse again, this time for SEXPLOITATION NIGHT. We went to the midnight movie, Hot Summer in the City, which is this hilarious porno from the 70s. The story takes place the night before the race riots in LA.

We got to meet him again afterwards, discussing The Beach Boys, and the fact that this was Megan's* first porno.I would go into more details, but the code of the night was what happens in the theatre stays in the theatre, and "not to go post it in your blog or anything!" That guy ruled. So yeah, met Tarantino again, more successfully this time. Hot. Creepy.

    ACL for life
    ACL = amazing.

    I love the south.

Dirty Dozen Brass band, same as usual, great. They're from New Orleans and they're keeping the music going strong. Oasis, still says weird ass crap when they're on stage that makes no sense, as if they've probably hit the bong too much and they probably have. death cab for cutie was surprising good.

My brother may go to environmental law school in Costa Rica if accepted. I'm so proud of him.

Stephanie's visiting me for the weekend, woo! We went to videoke and it's golden. You act out different scenes in movies.

I'm glade most of Galveston and Houston are okay. We're rediculously low on gas though, dry as can be in my hometown.

    Peace Out.
